Shakespeare by the Sea

Shakespeare by the Sea presents 10 weeks of ADMISSION FREE performances at +20 venues throughout LA and Orange Counties this Summer: June 15 - August 19, 2017

Here is the schedule of performances in the South Bay Area.

San Pedro: Point Fermin Park

June 15, 16, 17, 29, July 1, 7, August 19 at 8pm: The Taming of the Shrew
June 22, 23, 24, 30, July 6, 8, August 18 at 8pm: Macbeth

Very Chilly – right on the ocean. Bench seating available, or set up chairs or blankets on the side.


Rancho Palos Verdes: Hesse Park

Sunday, July 9 at 7pm: The Taming of the Shrew

Huge grassy field with bowl-like corner where audience can place seats – low chairs best for areas with rise. Blankets a must. Starts out warm/hot, but marine layer floats in by intermission – layers of warm clothing a must.


Hermosa Beach: Valley Park

Wednesday, July 12 at 7pm: Macbeth
Thursday, July 13 at 7pm: The Taming of the Shrew

Very steep hill – low beach chairs, and blankets are best. Gets a little damp and chilly. You have to park in the surrounding neighborhood and walk in.


San Pedro: Marine Mammal Care Center Los Angeles

Friday, July 21 at 7pm: The Taming of the Shrew

Flat concrete area, so bring something to sit on. It’s close to the ocean so will be chilly, so bring/wear layers.  
Here’s more details:
Take the 110 Fwy south until it ends.
Turn left, heading south on Gaffey St.
Turn right at 3nds St (Barlow Saxton Rd) and the entrance to John Olguin High School
Follow the road up the hill, then back down to Leavenworth, and make a right at the Military Museum.
Turn right after the Angel’s Gate High School portable units – park where space is available.

Torrance: Wilson Park

Friday, July 28 at 7pm: Macbeth
Saturday, July 29 at 7pm: The Taming of the Shrew

Open grassy amphitheater area by the duck pond – come early to get close. Greek Amphitheatre. Sloped lawn gets steeper the further you get from the playing space. Low beach chairs or blankets work best. Warm layered clothing recommended. Park by the skate park and walk towards the duck pond and/or wheelchair accessible tree house, you’ll see us from there.


Carson: CSU Dominguez Hills



Wednesday, August 2 at 7pm – Macbeth

Bring your own chairs and blankets. Check local weather. Wear layers.
The Sculpture Garden (west side of campus just east of Stubhub Center). Parking Lot 6 immediately adjacent to the venue.


Manhattan Beach: Polliwog Park

Friday, August 11 at 7pm: Macbeth
Saturday, August 12 at 7pm: The Taming of the Shrew

Chairs are fine – low Beach chairs are nicest for those behind you. Also chilly and tends to get a little damp. Greek Amphitheater type venue in center of park – not visible from the street. You have to park a little ways away and walk in.


Rancho Palos Verdes: Terranea

Thursday, August 17 at 7pm: Macbeth
($10 parking, no outside food allowed, cash bar & picnic cuisine available onsite.)
