Disney on Ice Presents "Dare to Dream"

By Wendy Coe December 17, 2018

Disney on Ice "Dare to Dream" is a show you don't want your kids to miss! My family and I went to the 7:30pm showing at Staples Center and after making sure my boys had a well rested nap off to Downtown LA we went. The show started a little after 7:30, but with all the Olaf frozen drinks and Disney glowing wands on sale my kids weren't getting desperate for the show to start. A great thing about Disney and Fled Entertainment do exceptionally well at is that as soon as you step into the arena you definitely fill the Disney magic. The show starts with a great performance by the shows warm up gal who is right on point, they couldn't have hired a better audience coordinator to get everyone dancing and excited for the show to start.  First up is Miguel from Coco who opens the show with a small performance which is then followed by the Goofy, Mickey, Donald and Minnie joining in on the fun teaching the kids to warm up as the big show is about to begin.

The first half of the show begins with "Beauty and the Beast," which set up the theme of dreaming... they are the followed by Cinderella, which my boys didn't know who she was but the easy to follow storytelling done by the show they understood she lost her glass slipper. This is a fun interactive moment as well with the audience as they go searching the audience having kids try on the glass slipper. And just like that my boys now know who Cinderella is and love her.  Then came the aerial flying techniques of Rapunzel from Tangled, my boys were hooked! Just amazing to see that unique talent and on ice.

After about an hour, intermission happens. This was a great time for more snacks and a bathroom break.

5 minutes till the grand finale they announce and it was back to our seats we went.

The show ended with two final stories "Frozen" and "Moana."  The songs in the production truly make you feel that you are re watching the movie and you get caught up in the moment. "Let it Go," continues to have such a profound effect and all eyes were on the stage as the Queen Elsa dazzled the audience. For the gran finale it was Moana whose entire stage presence and was quite the production. Every song, every dancer and sound effects and color were so on point that you didn't want it to end. Just Beautiful.

The show was done around 9:30pm which made it a great time, to get back home and the kids off to bed.

Disney on Ice "Dare to Dream" is definitely suited for the 2 and up age crowd, but you don't necessarily have to be in love with the princess to enjoy the show as these ice skaters are definitely true professionals with a lot of talent for anyone to appreciate.
